You’re invited to the Woodgrove Village Open Gardens Weekend

You’re Invited to the Woodgrove Village Open Gardens Weekend taking place on Saturday and Sunday, 26 and 27 October from 9 am to 4 pm.

The five small gardens are beautiful, very beautiful, but don’t take our word for it, come and see them for yourself. You can also take a gentle stroll through the estate enjoying the parklike surrounds. There will homes on show so you to see first hand just what sort of residences are available. The coffee shop in the Louis Sennet Centre will have light lunches and refreshment for sale.

The entrance fee is R20 per person and tickets will be on sale at the Woodgrove Village Gate. Please note that this is a fundraiser for Sunnyside Village so all profits will go to assisting residents with toiletries and funeral policy payments.

The gardens on show are:

Jean Peterson 33 Conifer Drive

A cottage garden bursting with colour with a path leading to the back where the steep bank has been retained with loffelsteinblocks planted with wild asparagus which cascades down the  wall softening the hash bank.  A simple water feature flanked with maidenhair ferns creates a tranquil spot .

Joan Dowsett 10 Elm Ridge and Maureen Walwyn 8 Elm Ridge

These two gardens complement each other with their use of succulents, with the plantings flowing into each other. These water wise gardens on the warmer side of their houses are contrasted by lusher plantings in the cooler front of the properties.

Gill Dyer 49 Conifer Drive

An interesting screen of large indigenous shrubs and small trees hide this beautiful the garden.  Walk through the path into the charming collection of roses, perennials and annuals that is Gill’s lovely garden.

Mary-Ann Spur:  7 Cyprus Way

Mary-Ann’s years of experience as a gardener is evident in this beautiful small garden. There is an interesting collection of succulents housed in pots on her hot North facing verandah, she has used pillars and marble to create a dramatic stand for her bonsai. A steep bank in the front garden compliments those of her neighbours collectively creating a pleasant walk.
