With the most exquisite views over Pietermaritzburg, Villa Assumpta Village is a small community of 60 seniors residing in Wembley, a northern suburb of Pietermaritzburg. We offer residential living and assisted living in single and double rooms. Our residents are encouraged to customise the rooms and make them their own. Some of these offer kitchenettes or verandahs as well.
There are communal lounges, dining rooms and outdoor areas where residents can socialise with one another as desired. Residents are encouraged to remain active and involved. Recreational activities include games hour, movie afternoons, as well as gardening.
The beautiful, little chapel is a place for quiet reflection and prayer and hosts chapel services. Our tranquil gardens and spacious grounds of this estate provide a feeling of a sanctuary in the city for those looking to live independently or with assistance.
We do our best to take the stress and strain of the day-to-day needs and so we offer 24-hour care and security as well as full catering, laundry and cleaning services. These are complemented with a range of convenience services such as transport into town for shopping.
Villa Assumpta was run by the Oakford Congregation of Dominican Sisters for many years. Whilst it is now managed by Mowana, the ethos of care and warmth created by the Sisters have continued. Villa Siena, adjacent to Villa Assumpta, is still home to Sisters who have retired from active ministry, and who attend regular services in the chapel and visit the residents.
Residential and Assisted Living at Villa Assumpta
Residential living is R9 500 per person per month and this includes one meal a day. You can choose to add caring services and additional meals as required.
Assisted living is R15 000 per person per month and this includes three meals a day as well as caring services.
