Woodgrove Village is situated centrally in the northern suburb of Wembley, in Pietermaritzburg. There is a sense of peace and tranquillity once inside the entrance gates. The undeveloped wilderness space is a favourite area for walks and a haven for birds and other wildlife.
We have three community areas available to residents. The Louis Sennett centre includes a spacious dining room, pub and meeting area.
The Community Centre is used for meetings and a range of dynamic social activities including watching sports on the big screen.The Library area is a space of tranquillity in which there are comfy couches to enjoy the books or complete a puzzle.
From independent living through to fully supported care, we offer the full spectrum of living options including catering and care services.
Independent Living in The Village
The 172 independent living units are offered on an extremely advantageous life rights basis, and range in size from 50 to 200 m². The 9 different size options ensure there is a unit to suit every lifestyle and pets are welcome.
We have a Village Nursing Service which offers a clinic service and emergency care. The option to age in place with carers is available. Our Maintenance team cares for the buildings, grounds and units.

Assisted Living in The Oaks
Woodgrove has 23 bedsitters offering older adults assisted living on a Life Rights basis. The monthly levy includes caring and three meals a day. We currently have two bedsitters available, read more here.
Fully Supported Care at The Lodge
There are 16 beds in the Fully Supported Care facility, where an additional 3 beds are reserved for respite care for Life Right Holders.
The monthly rental for a single room is R24313 per month and for a premium room (which is twice the size of a single room allowing space for a living area) is R29000 per month. Our respite care is available at R850 per night.
